  1. Hi there!

I'll be in Tokyo for 1 full day and 2 half days, and wondering what you would recommend for my itinerary. It's my first time to Japan! I like scenery (would like to see Mount Fuji if possible) and shopping, and am not keen in temples or museums. Hear from you soon! Many thanks! :)

  2. Hi Sher,

There are a few options for you, but what time of the year are you traveling? For the full day you could do a dat trip to Hakone where you view Mt Fuji - there is a bit of traveling though including train, cable car and gondola. Then after viewing Mt Fuji, there is another gondola ride, a boat trip, bus and train back to Tokyo. There is great scenery to take in while there though.
If that sounds too much then you can see Mt Fuji from Tokyo Tower. It is distant but you can say you have seen it.
If you have the budget you could do a day trip to Kyoto.
For the 2 half days, you could walk around the Imperial gardens and visit Ginza (which is next door) for some shopping.
I would also recommend seeing the famous crossing in Shibuya and taking in some people watching in Starbucks, then hopping over to Harajuku to stroll around and see the funky shops, people and atmosphere. There is also Meiji Jingu which although you say you don't want to see shrines or temples, the entrance to the temple is beautiful and forest like. It's like a park more than a shrine. Then if you really want to see a beautiful garden, visit Shinjuku Gyoen. It's huge and the scenery is fantastic. I love this garden. All of these places are very easy to get to.

Let me know if any of these suggestions interest you and I can give you further details.

    I hope that helps!
